Firm's Appellate Experience

The firm’s senior partner, Kenneth T. Roberts, has been appearing in the state and federal appellate courts since 1975, when Ford Motor Company had its celebrated "Pinto Case" in the State of Indiana. Mr. Roberts was called upon to prepare a memo as to the appellate procedure in the State of Indiana. Fortunately, the memo was not used since the jury rendered judgement for Ford Motor Company. Mr. Roberts has written more than 100 briefs in his career.

When Tandem computers needed counsel in a neighboring jurisdiction, Mr. Roberts was hired to go to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. The firm has represented General Motors Corporation in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and prevailed. The firm represented Chrysler Corporation in the Indiana Court of Appeals and also prevailed. Mr. Roberts also has the distinction of convening the Indiana Supreme Court on a Sunday morning to issue a Writ of Prohibition in a major case. Individual lawyers and law firms have called upon the firm for its appellate expertise.

The firm’s senior associate, Kevin L. Scionti, had the privilege of serving two terms as a law clerk for the Indiana Supreme Court when he commenced his legal career.

All of the firm’s lawyers have argued before the Seventh Circuit.
